Cultivating creativity this weekend...

I love weekends for that laid-back, relaxed feeling.  This is when I love to create.  Almost finished with another scarf.  I hope to start my first amigurumi project this weekend too.

Here is DS with the Domo wallet he gave his dad for his birthday.
Très mignon!

Not enough time...

I don't mean to complain, but I continually find that there is just not enough time to engage in my creative hobbies the way I'd like.  I guess that is what summers are for, considering I am fortunate enough to get my summers off.

On the bright side, the kids and I have some days off this week that will be very much appreciated.  Happy November and Happy Thanksgiving!

Glorious Autumn

We had a delightful fall day today with Grandma Jolene. It was quite windy and dry, causing dirt from the corn fields to wreak havoc, but we persevered and enjoyed ourselves nonetheless. Grandma Jolene had never been to a pumpkin patch and she is about to turn 79! I think she had a good time.

Let me explain to you why teachers have long summer vacations...

Not that I'm complaining, mind you, but it is a fact that most teachers bring home stacks of papers to grade nightly or weekly. We spend much more time on our jobs than our contract time dictates, all in the name of helping kids achieve. I take my work seriously and I am happy to be a conscientious teacher, even when the weather is beautiful and the great outdoors is calling my name.
